Teresa Tomeo
Teresa Tomeo is an author, syndicated Catholic talk show host, and motivational speaker with more than 30 years of experience in TV, radio, and newspaper, 20 of which were as a secular reporter/anchor in the Detroit market. In the year 2000, Teresa left the secular media to start her own speaking and communications company, Teresa Tomeo Communications, LLC. Her weekday morning radio program, Catholic Connection, is produced by the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network. It is heard on over 600 Catholic radio stations worldwide and on the Sirius Satellite Network.
Teresa appears frequently on the EWTN Global Catholic Television Network, and is the host of the EWTN Learn Video Series “Saints in Italy” and “The Unknown St. Francis of Assisi.” She is a field reporter for their annual March for Life coverage in Washington, D.C. and is honored to be a media consultant for the USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities.
Teresa has been featured on Fox News, Fox & Friends, MSNBC, and Family Talk Radio discussing issues of faith, media awareness, and Catholic Church teaching, especially as it relates to the culture. As a Deacon’s wife, she is also a columnist for The Deacon magazine. Teresa was interviewed for her expertise on the Catholic faith, and the passing of Pope Francis, his funeral, and the Conclave to elect a new pope, on major secular and Catholic media including: EWTN Global Catholic Radio & TV, Fox News, Newsmax, Spectrum News, WCBS Detroit, WXYZ TV Detroit, WJR News Talk 760 Detroit, WWJ Newsradio 950 Detroit, and WMAL NewsTalk 105.9 in the D.C Metro Area.
Teresa was one of a select group of international delegates invited to the Vatican Women’s Congress in Rome, marking the 20th Anniversary of Pope Saint John Paul II’s letter, On the Dignity and Vocation of Women (Mulieris Dignitatem) in 2008. Teresa also spoke at the Vatican conference entitled, “The Rights of the Family and the Challenges of the Contemporary World” on the topic, “The Way Family is Perceived in Society,” presented by the Pontifical Council for the Family in 2013. She was also co-host of the EWTN television series, The Catholic View for Women.
In her work as a pilgrimage/tour leader Teresa has had the opportunity to visit various stunning locations all over Italy and has covered several canonizations of new saints in Rome. Now living part-time in Italy, she has a unique understanding of how to navigate Rome and beyond, whether one is traveling there as a tourist or a pilgrim interested in a Papal audience, and she continues to uncover something new, explores the roots and history behind the beautiful Italian culture, food, and faith. In 2019, she opened her own Italy travel consultation company, T’s Italy—one stop shopping for all things Italia, and especially where to eat, play, shop and pray.
Teresa has written more than 10 books, including “Italy’s Shrines and Wonders: Discovering Sacred Spaces, Fascinating Places, and Destinations Off the Beaten Path,” and Volume II “Italy’s Shrines and Wonders: Discovering Sacred Spaces and Fascinating Places in the Life of St. Francis of Assisi.” She also is an international speaker, where she addresses media awareness and activism, as well as sharing her reversion to the Catholic Church. She resides part-time in central Italy, and in Southeastern Michigan with her husband, Deacon Dominick Pastore. They travel the world giving marriage and diaconate couples’ retreats.
Deacon Dom Pastore
Ordained a Deacon in the Archdiocese of Detroit in 2012, Dominick works side by side with his wife, ministering to couples through retreats, conferences, and pilgrimages. He currently serves as a deacon at St. Joan of Arc parish in southeastern Michigan. Deacon Dom has a master’s degree in pastoral studies from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. He is a Knight in the Order of Malta, and a board member and past president of Mary’s Mantle, a Catholic home for unwed mothers in Michigan.
In 2020 he retired from his position as Vice President and Senior Electrical Engineer of SmithGroup, one of the oldest and largest architectural engineering firms in the nation. During his professional career Dominick was recognized nationally by the Illuminating Engineering Society for his expertise in lighting design. Over his 40 years at SmithGroup he managed scores of multimillion dollar projects for a wide variety of institutional and governmental clients.
